We very much welcome all customer feedback and the following are just a few recent letters and emails that we have received from our kind supporters:

"My wife and I vistsed Monkey world on Sunday. Despite living only 20 miles away this is the first time we have been but we will certainly be coming back. It is one of the best Animal sanctury/zoo's we have been to. The animals all have so much room and great houses, the park was clean and tidy, and i was nice to see an abundance of keepers looking after the animals.

Please keep up the good work. This is an excellent facility for both the 'monkeys' you care for and the general public to visit."

"Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to say how much my friends and I enjoyed our visit to Monkey World on Saturday.  As a little girl I fell in love with monkeys at London Zoo, now a pensioner - that love has never faded.  How wonderful to see these beautiful animals in such conditions, and so happy.  We were also impressed by how reasonable your prices are in the cafeteria - and for our ice creams, and no charge to hire a mobility scooter.

Please can you say a big thank you to all the staff for being so kind and helpful to us - and more importantly for showing how much they love and care for my beloved monkeys - Bless you all."

"Dear all at Monkey World,

Me and my 6 year old daughter came to visit on Wednesday 5th October, we had a great day out.  It was great to meet most of the apes/monkeys we've been watching for so long on Monkey Life.

We also met Jeremy and Mike who were very welcoming and gave their time to talk to us even with their busy load.

We came all the way from Southport on the train with my heavy red suitcase full of bedding and evening primrose, which I hope you find useful.

I would also like to say that we also enjoyed our dinner that we had at the Treetops Cafe it was really tasty.

I think you all do a really great job and hope to come and visit again in the new year.

All the best."

"My family and I visited you today, and I feel I must tell you how fantastic our day was.  We had such a great time.  All the staff we met were so helpful polite and efficient.  The grounds were spotless.  The habitats clean, superbly thought out.  Play areas exciting and well maintained.  Last and most importantly, all the primates are so obviously happy, healthy and stimulated.  Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity for such a fantastic day.  The Day Family x"

"Hi, I just felt I needed to drop you an email to say thank you very much for a great day we had on 5/9 at Monkey World but more important that help and support my disabled partner and myself got from your staff, first discounted entry price for her and myself as her carer, also the free disabled scooter hire that we wasn't aware of until the lovely man at the front gate pointed out to us, we managed to see much more this time and stay the whole day.

Well done again Monkey World and you're very helpful staff, and thanks again, see you soon"

"I made my annual visit in the last week of August.  Well I made two visits and I was so pleased to see all my furry friends.  I found my brick and was so pleased where it had been placed - Hananya's group, near a seat, it couldn't have been better.  Well done.

On my second visit I had the pleasure of shaking Jeremy's hand when he came to see Sally and the youngsters to put them to bed.  Sally was so excited to see him.  It was the nearest I have been to Sally as she was sitting at the window and I realised how beautiful she is, she was so pleased to see Jeremy that she was almost singing.  It was such a moving experience for me and several others watching.

I also spent a lot of time looking at Oshine, and her weight loss is amazing.  One time she was asleep on the floor, she was so tired.  You must be really proud of her.

Last year I got to speak to Mike - such a nice man, this year Jeremy and hopefully Alison and then I will be in 7th Heaven!

Keep up the good work.  And roll on next year!"

"Hi would just like to say how much I enjoyed my visit to Monkey World twice on holiday.  Came from Fife just to see my favourite monkeys, which I did see apart from Gordon.  The best part of all was getting my photo taken with Jeremy after reading his book was so grateful to him thank you.  Will be visiting again soon I hope.  Thank you again for a wonderful experience."

"Dear Monkey World,

For many years I have been wanting to visit Monkey World but the opportunity for one reason or another never presented itself.  However on Saturday I finally waslked through your gates with a huge smile on my face.  I was not disappointed (not that I was expecting to be).

My husband has watched many of the programmes from the television series over the years with me, but I have been a regular viewer since it began.  Therefore to finally see so many of the characters ther in front of us was a real treat for us both.

The park itself is a huge credit to you all, from the primate care staff, to the vets, to the people who maintain all the enclosures, and everyone in between.  Alison and Jeremy you should be very proud in what you have and continue to achieve.

The enclosures are so vast, and the residents so well cared for.  If you opened the gates and to them all "ok off you go", none of them would leave.  Why would they?  You offer them a home that is secure and safe but one that allows them to live with their own kind under their rules.

All the staff we came into contact with were very pleasant and welcoming, please convey this to all who worked on Saturday (Sept 17th).  We managed to plan the day to get all the primate talks except one.  All the staff did an excellent job, very knowledgeable and informative.  Once again well done.

The memorial statue of Jim and Charlie was a must see for me, it was a very touching and moving sculpture.

Our travel costs to visit Monkey World were just under £150.  The entrance fee was exceptional value, as was the £5 brochure and the gift shop drew me in like a magnet.  Needless to say we didn't leave empty handed.  Although we spent a fare bit of money on our day out, my husband and I both agreed it was money well spent.  We are already talking about visiting again, and with your 25th anniversary pending next year, 2012, seems a good time to go.  Whilst many people will be talking about visiting the Olympic Stadium, for us it will be your park.

Many thanks Monkey World, you gave us both a super day out."

"One of our favourite summer outings with the kids this year was to Monkey World.  Given we were going slap bang in the school holidays, we were pleasantly surprised by how hassle free and easy our day was.  There was ample (free) car parking, and admission into the grounds was quick, easy, and reasonably priced in comparison to other such venues.

We were instantly struck by the size of the park and the huge amount of work that has gone into making it such a success.  The monkey enclosures are amazing, and the space and quality of the facilities that all the primates have is certianly impressive, with access to indoor and outdoor areas where you can track their movements... if they want you to that is!  There is a huge number of primate species to see, and the Orang-utan 'nursery' enclosure was certainly a family favourite!

Very poignant is the wonderful memorial statue of Jim Cronin - a beautifully designed piece of art which is a very touching tribute to his outstanding dedication and remarkable work.

We felt that Monkey World certainly accommodates all the family, with wonderful facilities including decent eating establishments and picnic areas, a well-stocked shop that you might have trouble getting your kids out of, and some truly top quality play areas that your kids might have trouble getting you out of!

Overall we enjoyed a really great day there and would certainly recommend it as a family trip.. thank you Monkey World and keep up the great work!"

"Hi Monkey World!

My family visited Monkey World only yesterday and I just had to write and say a big thank you to all of the staff there.  I have a disabled daughter in a wheelchair and she was greeted and given so much help and assistance.  She particularly loved the special swings that she could use in her wheelchair and the maintenance man who was kind enough to let her in and out.  This is a facility I have never seen before so thanks for your foresight, it means a lot.  The monkeys themselves were a huge hit with my children, its fabulous to see them so content and cared for especially as so many of them had such a poor start in life.  Keep up the good work, we'll be back to see you soon!"

"I visited Monkey World last week and had to write to say thank you, congratulations and well done.

I have been to many animal parks and zoos in my 40 years and I have to say Monkey World is the best by far.  The work you all do is commendable.  The monkeys are amazing, beautiful, funny and endearing,  The enclosures are the next best thing to the wild.  Information offered about each individual monkey, their species and their natural life and habitat is fantastic.  I have watched your tv programmes for years and could not wait to visit.  I was not disappointed and hope to return one day.  In the mean time congratulations and well done best wishes to all the gang."

"Hi,

We have just arrived back at our hotel (Deerleap) just about a mile down the road form you after what can only be described as a wonderful day.

It's our 40th Wedding Anniversary today and my daughter had organised a tour for us and also a scooter for me to get around.  Jennifer our guide was really amazing and we got so much information about the park from that that we're still processing it!  The size of the park is incredible and although I love Monkey Life on TV, until you experience the gibbons singing to each other and the sounds of the other animals, you don't fully appreciate just how amazing the place is.

We've been trying to organise this trip for years and always something gets in the way so now we have seen it I'm just totally gobsmacked at how wonderful and special the place is.  Seeing the memorial to Jim brought tears to my eyes and seeing him with Charlie is just right, you couldn't have used a better photo to take that from.

I'm just going to download my photos from the camera and if I've got any really good ones I'll send them along.  We've adopted Silvestre today so he's another of my adopted sons like Seamus.

We SHALL come back again but this time we won't get lost on the way... bad directions from the AA! LOL

Thanks again to EVERYONE at the Park for helping us you are a brilliant crowd and also THANK YOU FOR THE anniversary card... Jennifer said it was Mike that signed it... pity I never met them but maybe next time.

Love and huggles."

"I wish to tell you what an amazing day we (group of family and friends) had when we visited on Wednesday, 10th August.  I have been yearning to visit Monkey World for some years but, being disabled, am reliant on others.

Finally, a date was arranged and my niece organised it all.

The whole expreeince was marvellous and totally lived up to expectations.  We had booked a guided tour and this was the crowning glory to the day.  jane was our guide and she was excellent.  Even members of the group who only came to make me happy became interested na dinvolved due to her expert knowledge.  Jane added the extra edge to a great day and I would like to commend her most highly.

I am desperate to return to Monkey World (orangs have always been my favourite and even more so now) and would be delighted for another tour with Jane.

Thank you for the marvellous work you all do.  Hope that I can see you soon."

"Just had to let you know, just back from my 1st visit to Monkey World.  It took us 10 hours to get there but was well worth it.  I had already adopted Seamus previously so decided to go or someone else this time.  When I saw Lulu and read about her I had a cry then decided she had to be the one.  My friend also gave me money to adopt one for her so I chose Bryan - another awful story.  I absolutely adore monkeys and thank goodness for people like yourselves, keep up the great work you all do and Alison you are a truly wonderful person, I'm sure Jim must be so proud of you looking down from Heaven.  God bless."

"I first came to Monkey World today and I was amazed at what you have done here.  I found it a very emotional experience which surprised me as I have not been particularly involved with any animal welfare in the past.  I wanted to tell you how impressive I think it is - the facilities are fantastic, it is good value for money, and most of all the animals there were just beautiful.

Thank you for an amazing day and I will be visiting again very soon."

"My husband and I and our son thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Monkey World while camping in Dorset.  We love to watch the program on TV and it has long been a desire of mine to see Monkey World in action.  Thank you for a great visit and also for rescuing these primates."

21 July 2011

"After seeing Monkey World on TV, I finally got there on Sunday 17th July 2011.

We had a wonderful 5hrs at the Park.  We started in the Treetops restaurant where we had an excellent burger and chips, served by VERY pleasant staff, also from a lady in the kitchen area, who helped me with some mayonnaise, she couldn't have been more helpful.

We found the park such a special place to be, we were SO VERY impressed with the space and the play things you have given the monkeys.

As we entered the park we noticed the number of mobility scooters you have, on the way round the brilliant children's play areas, and clean toilets, everyone so well catered for.

As we sat by the Buddha in the wood a lady from your educational staff spoke to us, she was lovely and spent quite some time with us, answering all our questions willingly, we really appreciated that - a lovely finish to our visit."

"Just a quick email to say thank you for the great visit we had today.  It was an amazing experience to see such incredible animals up close, and the talks were really informative and interesting.  You do some amazing work, and bring it home that an ideal world would be one in which Monkey World doesn't have to exist. Keep up the good work!"

"Thank you for the lovely day we spent at Monkey World on Wednesday.  The animals were a real treat and it was good to recognise so many of them from the tv programme.

It was great to see smiles and grins on children and more especially grown ups and the remarks when bodily functions were observed (whis is that?!!)

we have moved from the nort west and I bought my husband a woolly monkey for his birthday.  We look forward to many more happy AND informative visits.

The staff were good and the whole place was spotless.

Our very best wishes to you all.  The work you do is amazing."

"For my 50th birthday, my work colleagues, knowing how much I love Monkey World, adopted me a primate, bought me a plaque in the Walk of Thanks and paid for a guided tour.  On Tuesday, myself and 6 friends travelled up to see the plaque and take the tour.  I would just like to say that we had the most fantastic time and even though I have been many times before and watched all the tv series, having our guide taught me so much more, she was a lovely lady.  From now on to anyome I know who intends visiting yourselves I am going to recommend they go in a large group and book a tour."

Would just like to thank you for making my mum's day out a very memorable one.  She really enjoyed it especially seeing Jeremy and Alison and having her book on Jeremy and Amy signed.  My daughter and I have been before and still enjoyed it as much if not more than before.  Keep up the brill work, all our love to your brill team."

"Just wanted to say I came to Monkey World last Thursday with my family and wanted to say what a great day we had and what a fantastic place Monkey World is.  The place was clean and lovely to walk round and the staff were great.  My children loved it and was great value for money and the best place we visited all week in Dorset!  Thanks."

"Dear All,

We just had to write to say what a wonderful day out we enjoyed at Monkey World today.  From the staff at the gate right through to all the staff we met around the park, everyone was so friendly and helpful.

And then there were the primates.  What a fantastic experience.  The care, love and attention you all give to them was so evident from the way they all behaved, just as if they were in their natural habitat.

We will certainly visit again soon.  Once again, our thanks for a most memorable day."

"Have just returned from a recent visit to Monkey World and wanted to let you know what a fantastic time me and my family had.  I have wanted to visit Monkey World for years after seeing it on the TV.  But it is even better being there in real life.  I couldn't resist buying several items in the gift shop and I even came away adopting Sally.  Thank you for providing such a lovely place for people to visit and for all the hard work you do rescuing all those animals.  Thank you once more."

S. Evenden

1 June 2011

"We visited for the first time on Sunday.  We had such an amazing day.  Our adopted son loved the idea of "adopting" a primate as they had experienced similar treatment to him and that other people want to help those in need whether it be animals or humans - he is globally delayed and special needs and this has helped him understand and relate to the animals.

Ironically every time we came to a viewing window the chimpanzees and orang-utans came to the windows so we have some fantastic pictures.  He is planning a presentation to his class on the work done there it has inspired him so much.

We would like to congratulate you on an amazing place and the work you do."

20 May 2011

"Hello, my husband and I brought our four children to Monkey World last Sunday and I just wanted to write to say what a lovely day we had.  My husband and I came many years ago without kids, so we knew the background etc.  The kids loved the monkeys and found it educational - one of my daughters is going to talk to the school council about the idea of a school trip!  We also really enjoyed the play area (both looked good but we used the one at the back of the park).  We don't usually use play areas at this sort of place, as the point is to look at the animals, but we really had fun because some of the equipment is suitable for adults - such as the long swing thing that about ten people can stand on.  This meant we could all play on it together.  We were also impressed that you did not have to go through the shop to get out and we did not feel pressured to constantly buy things.  We did spend in the shop - we have 4 girls so it is impossible not to!

Again, many thanks."

29 April 2011

"Just wanted to say thank-you for providing an excellent visitor experience.

I visited Monkey World on Thursday 28-04-11 along with my wife and two young children.

We thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent with you.  All the staff were so friendly and helpful it really enhanced the experience and so nice not to feel ripped off in the gift shop.

We have seen the television series following your work in the UK and across the world and have wanted to come and make a personal visit for a long time.  Our expectations were well and truly satisfied and we will certainly visit again in the future.

Keep up the good work."

"Hi, I visited Monkey World yesterday, what a fantastic place.  I've seen all the shows on TV, but it was lovely to actually be there, I was amazed at how peaceful it was, but to see all the primates was fantastic.  Especially my favourite the stump-tailed macaques.  What a wonderful life they all have now.  I think all the hard work by Alison and everyone who works there are just fantastic.  Keep up the good work."

21 April 2011

"Hi, Today I visited Monkey World with my two young children and my mum.  Unfortunately my mum got taken rather poorly and just at the point that she was about to faint on me the first aider just appeared from nowhere and asked if we needed help.  I could not have managed with the situation on my own with the children without him.  He managed to get mum safely to the first aid unit and ensured that the appropriate medical attention was given and quite rightly ensured that the ambulance service checked mum over before our long drive home.  Thankfully she is fine now and too much sun and existing medical conditions were the problem.  Please can you ensure that the first aider is commended for his actions today, the situation could have been so much worse without his timely appearance especially for my children seeing their nanny taken so poorly.

We have always been avid supporters of everything you do at Monkey World and this has just added yet another great big tick to what a wonderful, well rganised and safe place it is to be.

I can't thank you enough."

18 April 2011

"We took my mum to Monkey World yesterday to see Silvestre the Orangutan who we'd adopted for her birthday.

We've been many times before and I'm always struck by what a wonderful place Monkey World is.  It's really obvious how much everyone working there cares, and all the primates seem so genuinely happy and content.  All that just makes it such a happy place to be and to walk around.

On a personal note - Jim Cronin is a big imspiration to me and its great to see the place growing and flourishing in his memory.

Thanks again and nice work!"

"Hello to all at Monkey World.

We visited the rescue centre on Saturday 16th April with our grand children and would like to thank you all for the wonderful work you do there, so nice to see the animals so relaxed and comfortable.

It was good to meet such pleasant and helpful staff as well, especially the staff in the small vehicles who have to drive around the site, they waited patiently for visitors to move out of their way before they drove on, it all made for a lovely day out.

So a big thank you to each and every one of you."

"Hi,

Just wanted to say a big thank you as we visited Monkey World last Tuesday.  My son is 5 and severely disabled and he loved it all but especially the wheelchair swing.  Please can you pass on our thanks to the staff who were so helpful especially when we asked for assistance in using the swing.

Many thanks."

"My girlfriend has watched your TV programme for what seems like ever, so, I adopted "Rodders" for her last Christmas.  I had no idea where it would lead.  For a birthday treat, we drove down from Durham over night last Friday to arrive just before opening.  How tired we were!!  Anyway, we went straight to the nursery to be greeted by none other than "Rodders and Bryan" at the window.  Our day just couldn't get any better.  It did.  Having walked around taking pics of Sally, Lulu, Ash and the two guys we headed off in search of the rest of the gang from T.V.  To cut a long happy story short it was my girlfriend who said "we have to go" to which I replied "we can't, I want to see Rodders again" and must admit a tear or two came to my eye at the thought of leaving.  My girlfriend eventually dragged me away as were planning to go to Plymouth the following morning.  No, I suggested we visit Monkey World again, so we did.  This time we left before lunch but with just as big smiles on our faces than the day before.  Only this time, before we got to the car we were talking about the next time we could get down to see the gang.  So until next time, a big THANK YOU for a fantastic time and all the hard work you guys do. XX to you all."

"Dear all at Monkey World,

I visited Monkey World with my mum and brother last Tuesday, 29th March.  I had waited a long time for this visit and adopted the woolly monkeys for my birthday in November.  It took us 2 days to travel all the way from the Isle of Lewis in the North West of Scotland especially to visit Monkey World, and we had a fantastic time.  It was brilliant to hear the gibbons calling in the morning when we 1st arrived.  My favourite monkey is Paulo and my brother adopted Jin on this visit.  We loved the park and the space and how great the enclosures were for all the monkeys.  It is the best animal park we have ever been to.  We went back for another visit on Thursday 31st March and didn't want to leave.  It was great to see some familiar faces from the programme in the staff who were all very helpful and nice.  We didn't get to see Tuan and his group and hope that we can return to see them and the new orang-utan enclosure.  We brought lots of souvenirs, photos and memories home with us.

Thank you for a wonderful time and for taking care of the monkeys."

"I had the most wonderful day out at Monkey World and it was fantastic to see all the primates in the flesh.  They are really the most amazing creatures and I loved each and every one of them.  I owe a big thank you to Shelley and Alison for making my trip so very special.

Monkey World has to be one of the most worthwhile causes that I have ever seen and I feel privileged and proud to be part of the campaign to help raise awareness for them.

Keep up the good work guys and girls."

16 February 2011

"I just had to write, having visited Monkey World with my husband last weekend - his first visit (once I'd given him a taster watching 'Monkey Life').  We spent 5 wonderful hours with you, and left feeling up-lifted.  I believe I know why: so often when we have visited zoos or animal parks, we have left feeling sorry for those whose life has to be spent there; not at Monkey World.  Everything about it is planned for the apes and monkeys FIRST, then for the visitors.  These 'relatives' of ours who have been so badly treated by (I'm ashamed to be associated with them) my fellow human beings that they can not possibly return to their natural environment, have been given a home at Monkey World where they can truly 'live', not just exist.

Thank you so much for what you do.  If I lived closer, I would be volunteering with you like a shot (if you'd have me!).

Can you please also thank your cafe staff?  The food we had was really well cooked, beautifully presented and good value for money.

In all you have 2 new devoted 'fans'!"

"Having visited Monkey World several times, it is only now as I have grown up to become a young adult, that  truly appreciate all the work that everyone at Monkey World does.

I am truly disgusted that we, the human race can treat any animal in this way!  I am also moved by all the work that all the staff of Monkey World do to rehabilitate these primates!

I have recently visited, and am amazed at how these primates can seem happy and enjoy their lives after all the abuse that they have suffered, at the hands of humans.  I especially liked Oshine the Orang-utan, she truly has an amazing personality, and is beautiful, this was shown to us, when she came over to say hello, it was almost as if she was smiling!

Thank you for all you do, you truly are an inspiration to us all!"

"I just wanted to say a huge thank you following our visit to your rescue centre last week.  Please say a particularly big thank you to Mike for giving us a wonderful, informative guided tour and for making Steve's birthday surprise extra-special.

We'd travelled down from Lancashire to visit your rescue centre ad it was well worth the effort.  It was our first time, but hopefully not our last.  The monkeys all seemed so happy and well cared for and their antics had us in stitches.

Your staff are obviously very dedicated and love what they do.  please keep up the good work!"

"To Alison and Jeremy and all the staff.

Just wanted to say a huge thankyou for an enjoyable day spent at Monkey World last week, my first visit.

I have been a big fan of the programme and all you do to help primates around the world.

It was lovely to see Lulu, and the capuchin monkeys you rescued and many others that i recognised formthe programme.

I thought the site was beautifully clean and all the primates looked so well cared for and in such good condition.  A credit to you and your staff.

We had a lovely meal in the cafe, the food was hot and tasty, simple and nicely done.

Al the staff we spoke to were polite and happy to chat and answer our questions.

I hope you don't mind my writing, only I know feedback is always nice especially when it is positive feedback, and I felt I wanted to give credit where credit was due."

"We would like to say a huge thanks you to Sue and Monkey World for wonderful guided tour yesterday.  Although very boisterous our little boy Harry talked all the way back to our holiday home about the monkeys.  This was definitely one of the best of our many trips to your wonderful park.

Please make sure you pass on our thanks to Sue, she was excellent especially with Harry (aged two and three quarters)!  Looking forward to seeing you all again in April next year, keep up your amazing work and a very happy Christmas!"

"We have been adopters since 2004 and have visited many times since that time.  We wish to express our extreme delight we felt after our visit last Saturday.

We always do the round of talks from 12.00 noon until 3.00pm but have never been so enthralled as we were on Saturday.  Every one of your speakers gave us an excellent 20 minutes of their expert knowledge.

Many many congratulations also on your new areas for the capuchins and macaques we had a fantastic day out yet again.

Many thanks."

"It isn't very often that I feel I should put pen to paper but this time I felt I should.

We visited last Saturday afternoon and had a lovely time.  We have followed the exploits on the tv of some of the characters and it was delightful to see them in real life and be familiar with their enclosures.

The entrance fee is very reasonable compared to "animal parks".  The facilities were great and the staff that we met were very friendly and knowledgeable.  An improvement could be to provide tiered seating to enable the public to sit and watch the behaviour of the apes for longer than just a few minutes.  I know we would have found that useful.

Thank you so much for such a great afternoon.  Hopefully, we will be able to come again."

"Having watched the tv series, then adopted, but had never been, finally last week we made it.  In fact we visited 3 times, having found a cottage at Broadmayne off of your website, which was superb in every way.

Monkey World is an absolutely wonderful place for all the apes, how nice it was to see them free, and having a quality of life second to none, now, after all they have been through.  The memorial to Jim almost brought tears to our eyes, what a great man, and we hope Alison will keep going forever.

We hope the 2000 odd evening primrose oil capsules were handy, they were given with great love, and we will do what we can for you in the future.  Thanks to all your staff because all we spoke to were so happy to chat and answer our questions.

We wish you all the very best for the winter months, and will visit again as soon as we can - thank you all again so much for what you do, and the pleasure it gave us to visit."

"Hi.  We visited Monkey World on 17th October 2010 while on a weekend break in Weymouth.  We had a fantastic day out at the sanctuary and thoroughly enjoyed every second of it.  Apart from loving all the primates, all the staff were extremely knowledgeable and very helpful in answering all our many questions.  We also had the great pleasure of adopting Gordon the orang-utan whom we have seen many times on your TV programme and look forward to receiving our information packs and updates on him.  We will certainly be returning to Monkey World and would recommend it to anyone for an extremely enjoyable day out.

Many thanks to everyone."

"I just wanted to let you know how much we all enjoyed our recent visit to Monkey World.  We were staying in Sandford and spent the day with you last Tuesday.

There was something for each one of our group to enjoy.  We thought it was good value for money, clean, entertaining and informative.  My friend and I said we could happily spend a week there as it was so fascinating.

Thank you for such a wonderful experience and may your work bring comfort and hope to many more monkeys."

"Hi,

Just wanted to say my wife and I visited for the first time yesterday and we were delighted to see the primates come before the visitors which is just how it should be. Everything is geared to the wellbeing of the animals and we were so pleased to see it that way.  Other places we have seen over the years cater for the visitors but at Monkey World the habitat and environment is as natural as possible.  Well done indeed!"

"I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say a big thank you for the great birthday party you gave me last Saturday, 18th September.

Everyone was so impressed with the level of service from your staff, the food and room were great and we had an excellent day.

The party was a great start to my 50's!  I will thoroughly recommend you to anyone who is thinking of planning a day out and we will be back again soon to spend a day with the primates."

"Thank you for a truly great day out yesterday (Wednesday 22nd).  A wonderful experience.  The park is so clean and tidy it made the visit so much more pleasurable.  May I say that the choice of site for the Jim Cronin Memorial was absolutely perfect.

Many thanks - keep up the good work!"

"Just a note to say THANK YOU!

A huge thank you, in fact, to everyone who made my visit to Monkey World so amazing.  I've so much respect and admiration for everything that you all achieve and stand for.  Providing a world class and inspirational safe haven and retirement home for these incredible creatures.  The brilliant, seamless blending of private rescue endeavours and public viewing and involvement is the key to the park's success.  All your knowledge and determination coupled with absolute committment to, and safe guarding of, these primates is amazing.  Thank you.

Most of all, I am honoured to be supporting the primate adoption scheme."

"I am just e-mailing to say thank you for a wonderful day.  We were on holiday in Dorset and I said I was not leaving until I had visited Monkey World.  What a super day we had the weather was great and the centre was great.  You do such a wonderful job with all the primates they all look so happy and I believe they are because of the care they receive from you all.  Thanks again for a wonderful time and I can guarantee we will return.  Keep up the good work."

"To all at Monkey World,

I just wanted to drop a line after my first visit to Monkey World.  I have been a huge fan of Monkey Business then Monkey Life and have wanted to visit for such a long time.  I finally got the opportunity to visit last Sunday.  Following an accident I became physically disabled 3 years ago and have such great difficulties walking but the efforts you have put in to ensure good access to the disabled is superb.

I was able to use one of your motorised scooters without which I would have been limited in how much I could see.  I was also very impressed to see that in your children's playground you have swings for disabled children.  It is fantastic that whilst doing all your amazing work in rescuing primates that you have also considered so well the disabled.  You get a huge thumbs up from me.  Whilst some places do the bare minimum you have gone further than most, thank you so very much.

In addition to the above, the work you do in rescuing all these amazing creatures is wonderful.  You can wonder if TV filming only edits in the good bits but it was obvious when visiting that you have truly happy primates well done and long may you thrive.

With the kindest regards and looking forward to the new series."

"We have recently returned from a weeks' holiday in Wareham, Dorset and whilst we were there we paid a visit to Monkey World at the request of our daughters who are 10 and 6.  I wanted to write to say what a fantastic day we all had and what a marked impression your rescue centre has had on me.  I have never been a great fan of zoos in general, as I often feel saddened that the animals have been removed from their natural habitat, although I do appreciate the excellent work that many zoos are involved in.  However, although many of the stories I read of the dreadful lives the residents of Monkey World have experienced, I couldn't help but feel a great sense of joy at seeing them finally getting to lead the lives that they so greatly deserve.

Our daughters had a wonderful day and it obviously made an impression on them too.

Our thanks to you once again and we wish you every success in the continued good work that you do.  We look forward to visiting you again soon."

"Dear All at Monkey World.

I have four young children (ages 5, 7, 9 and 11) who watch regularly your programme on TV, following the antics of Sally, Gordon and Carli, and not forgetting all of the others there.  We visited Monkey World today, so that they could meet them in person, and they had the most wonderful day possible.  The hardest part was, who would they go and find first.

Thank you all, for all of the work that you are doing for the monkeys and for making my boys' day."

"I had the pleasure of visiting Monkey World yesterday on what I gather was your busiest day for a couple of years!!

I have long been a visitor and supporter of your work being an adoptive mother to Cherri and the proud owner of a "Brick".

My aim yesterday was to visit my brick but also brought down a friend and her daughter - I had secretly bought my friend a brick too!!

I also managed to set up a guided tour as a surprise - having read about it in the last newsletter.  Many thanks to Charlotte who co-ordinated my request via phone on Monday and got back to me on Tuesday with the great news that there was one.

However, biggest thanks go to Val.  What a great tour we had - my 2 guests thought the whole day was excellent and came away with so much more knowledge - as did I.

I absolutely love the work you do and the place that you all have continued to provide after Jim.

Thank you for making the day even more special than usual."

"Just to say a big Thank you for a fantastic day out last weekend.  I have wanted to visit for ages and the trip was certainly worth it.  To see the primates so close was a wonderful experience.  Keep up your good work.  Can't wait to visit again."

"Just thought I'd drop you a mail to say how much everyone enjoyed the day out at Monkey World.

Thank you so much for making our day so enjoyable.  Can you please pass on my thanks to Mike for his wonderful talk.  I have never seen everyone so still and attentive!!  The DVD was excellent as although I had told everyone about the park and how it came into being, it was good for them to see first hand the wonderful work that has been and continues to be done by Alison and her wonderful team at Monkey World.

I would be grateful if you could pass on our thanks to the guys that provided the Hog Roast.  Pig has never tasted so good!!! Also, Craig and his team did a wonderful job taking care of our every need, so please give them a big thank you.

It just remains for me to give you a BIG THANK YOU for all your efforts to make our day so memorable."

"Alison, Jeremy, Mike and all staff,

I finally had my golden opportunity of visiting Monkey World on Monday August 2/10, which I have wanted to do for many years.  A friend and myself were on the Newmarket Tour from Swansea, S. Wales.

We cannot thank you and your staff enough for a wonderful day, the Park is fantastic, we met Luara what a lovely young lady and another member of your staff - both were very friendly, they both said how much they loved the work.  The amenities: washrooms pleanty of them and very clean, restaurants, cafes everything - outstanding, plus the use of electric scooters fantastic.  We walked every inch of the Park legs still aching but worth it.

My friend couldn't believe how much knowledge some of the people on the coach and myself had in relation to the names of different primates, we learned it all from watching Monkey Business and Monkey Life I still watch the repeats.  She has seen the program but wasn't into it like we were - she is now.  Sally, was doing her cleaning duties with the hose pipe and Bryan, Ash and Rodders took turns, thought Bryan was going to breal the window a few times.  lulu was outside.  All the Primates were very subdued too hot I guess no rucus just sitting quietly grooming each other.

Please take care of yourselves so that you can continue to help these wonderful primates, I know Jim is looking down on you and is very proud that you are able to continue his dream.  We saw the memorial of Jim and Charlie and both of us were very tearful, I didn't know Jim at least not in person but I feel as if I did just watching him on TV and goes for all of you.  you are all amazing in what you do please continue your wonderful work.  If I were years younger I'd apply for a job - it would be a dream job.

Thank you again for a really wonderful day, can;t stop talking about it.  i hope to come again if not this year then next."

"Hi just thought I'd drop you a line just to say what a great time we had on Tuesday.  All the animals looked happy, the food was good and great value for money, gift shop was cool, all in all we had a great time.  We had our mum with us who is terminally ill and she wanted to visit for ages, so once again I'd like to thank you for giving us a great day out.  Hope you continue to rescue and rehabilitate for years to come."

"I visited Monkey World a while ago with my disabled husband, it was a wonderful place to visit and the fact that you loan out electric wheelchairs to your visitors was fantastic.  My husband does not have an electric wheelchair as we have not found one yet that has been suitable for his disability, the best one he has tried so far was the one he used at Monkey World.

I hope we can get to visit Monkey World again, keep up your good work."

"My daughters (9 & 11) have been big fans of your show for years and yesterday we finally made it to Monkey World.  I wanted to write and say thank-you.  Thank-you for helping teach my girls there is more to life than themselves and for the sanctuary.  It was so much more than any of us expected.  I hate visiting zoos but walking around your park showed how much you not only love your animals but how you try to respect their nature and environment.  My oldest daughter was so inspired that she has decided when she's older she's going to come and work for you.

What also made our trip extra special was to meet Jeremy.  He stopped signed autographs and had his pictures taken.  I hope he realises how much just taking the time to do that really can inspire the people he does that for.

So all round a big thank-you.  I know we will be back and will help you spread your message.

Warmest regards and thanks to everyone invloved in your sanctuary."

"To Everyone at Monkey World.

I have been following your progress on the Channel 5 series and today drove down from London to visit you all and see what a fantastic job you have all done in rescuing all the primates and allowing them to all live out their lives in a happy environment.

Just wanted to send this email to compliment you all on the hard work and dedication you have to give all the primates a better life and hope you will continue for many more years.

It was a fantastic experience.  Thank you so much."

"Dear Alison and Jeremy and all your lovely committed staff.

My Husband Geoff and I had a lovely visit on Tuesday 6th July.  I was really overwhelmed at the expanse of the park and the dedication of the staff.  I have watched the antics of all the residents over many years and I found it absolutely wonderful to visit/  You are doing such a wonderful job, I find it really sad that there are not many wonderful people in this world that actually want to help all the wonderful animals on our planet.  Those that are really dedicated are cut short in life in such a harsh way.  I saw the wonderful bust of Jim and Charlie it felt so lifelike, its a shame that is all that's left of that wonderful man.  You Alison are carrying on a wonderful job and I hold my hat up to you.  (I don't wear a hat, but you know what I mean).  I have sent off details for adoption and hopefully I will be visiting again soon.  Keep up the wonderful work, but can I say please take care of yourself so that you can keep on caring for all the gorgeous animals.

I don't know which of the Bachelor Boys it was, but I had a lovely few moments looking at him eye to eye through the glass and it was a truly wonderful feeling to be able to do that, such gorgeous big brown eyes.  I bought Jeremy's book and that was such an insight into why he is such a caring person for all the animal kingdom.  I find him absolutely amazing."

"Oh what a WONDERFUL day I had at Monkey World on Friday!!! I arrived at 10.15am after some trepidation at finding my way - but it turned out to be fairly straightforward via Blandford and Berre Regis... And I left at 6.15pm!!

But a good buy in the shop beforehand including Jeremy's book and a dozen postcards as well as the EXCELLENT Guide Book.  Full of inf, as in the tv programmes.

Then an electric scooter for me - it was really great and SUCH a boon, not to have to walk areound 65 acres! It really added to the pleasure of the day... So all around and about the lovely centre, till 1.45pm then back to my car for my sandwiches etc and when i came back in at 2.15, there was Mike already there with the larger electric bugg.  It was SO nice to meet him in the flesh after seeing him on TV for the last nuumerous years.

I asked him if it would be possible to meet Alison, as I had a cheque which I would like to give to her in particular - if possible.  So Mike got on his talkie radio - and soon Alison came!! She happened to have a few minutes spare which was brilliant.  It was wonderful to meet her, and I told her so.  And how much I admired her work, and Jim's.  Then Alison left and Mike started his tour - and he gave an excellent tour - very informative and added to my knowledge of what I knew from the tv programmes.  It was absolutely great and well worth it.

And I had seen Jeremy earlier, but he was busy fixing bolts and things in the Orang enclosure so I hadn't bothered him - so I asked Mike if we were likely to see him again and he said yes - and there Jeremy was, 4 hours later, still hard at work.  And we had a chat through the fence, and he quite happily came out and signed his book for me, and Mike took a photo of me with Jeremy.  It was absolutely great to meet him, as he started with Jim right from the beginning and is in all the tv programmes.  Please will you tell him I did nothing on Saturday, but read his book! To the end!! What an amazing life story!!

Then after the tour and I'd said goodbye to Mike, I had a further 2 hours in the electric scooter again scampering around the site, looking at everything/  I saw so many of my favourite chimps and orangs though i had to ask the keepers to identify quite a few of them!!

So that was my WONDERFUL day! So thanks to Jackie for arranging the tour with Mike.  A great honour to meet him and Jeremy, and of course, Alison coming especially to meet me."

"We visited Monkey World recently and absolutely loved it and have recommended it to all our friends.  When we were there we experienced the children's play area with its amazing equipment - it was awesome.  We loved the long log-like swing, the whole family could fit on it... It truly was an amazing piece of equipment.

Thank you and we hope to be back to visit you soon."

"Hi,

A note to say that my sister and I visited Monkey World on Saturday 11th July a first for us after watching the series on TV over the years it was a dream come true and was everything and much more than we expected.

A massive thanks to Amanda who took us on a guided tour and gave an excellent insight into the running work and aims of Monkey World, her talk was brilliant and given in such a way we did not realise that we had learned so much until we have returned home and gone over it all in our heads, so thanks again Amanda.

Thanks to Mike and Jeremy for allowing a photo shoot.

Keep up the good work and we hope to visit again."

"We just would like to write to you to express our gratitude and glee at how amazing Monkey World is!!

We had a fabulous day out and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!  All the apes were amazing to watch and looked as if they enjoyed themselves too; and they all had wonderful homes which was good to see!

We were extremely happy to see our adoptive apes, we felt like proud parents! :) Very good value for money in the shop and cafes too (which is always nice)!!

We shall be back to visit again very soon for my birthday treat in July!!

Thank you very much to all at Monkey World!

Keep up the great work! :) xx"

"I just wanted to write and say what an amazing place this is.  We have travelled for 4-5 hours just to visit for the day and it was worth every minute.  Please, please never stop what you do for hese fantastic creatures.

Never stop helping these poor abused and neglected animals.  Jim would be so proud of your work.  I'm sure he is watching over you all.  As I'm typing this, the tears are rolling down my cheeks.  I just wish there were more people around like Alison and her team.  The world would be a much better place.

10/10 Monkey World, you're the best day out ever.  Thank you so much."

13 June 2010

"After watching many series of Monkey World on TV, we decided this year to take our family holiday in Dorset and make the long awaited trip to Monkey World, and we were not disappointed.  Why we could of easily stood there all day watching these amazing animals, at the same time felt sad that they should have to be there at all.  Why anyone would want to use or abuse these beautiful creatures is beyond me.  But thanks to all your committment and dedication, they no longer have to live in unhappiness or fear.

We were left totally captivated by the chimpanzees, and stood there for some time quietly watching them.  The lemurs, gibbons and orang-utans were lovely too, in fact every monkey we saw stole our hearts.  Our 16 month old daughter loved it too, and very much enjoyed your kids' play area, and the orang-utans were her favourite.  Although she didn't take the place in fully, it has given us a good reason to come back next year, as we think she will appreciate it a lot more then.... can't wait!!!

We ate at your restaurant and give it top marks, the whole site was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Keep up the good work, the world needs people like you."
