Monkey World assists governments around the world to stop the smuggling of primates from the wild.
At the Centre refugees of this illegal trade as well as those that have suffered abuse or neglect are rehabilitated into natural living groups.

Monkey World are very proud of the efforts made by our supporters to raise money for both the park and the Jim Cronin Memorial Fund (registerered Charity Number 1126939). We could not continue the rescue and rehabilitation work that we do, without your kindness and willingness to help.
Please let us know if you are doing any fundraising activities for Monkey World or the Jim Cronin Memorial Fund. We would love to hear about your cake sales, car boot sales, or sponsored events. Please see below just some of the fundraising efforts our supporters have made:

Chloe-Jade Turner
Events: Car Boot & Table Top Sales
Date: February to May 2011
Chloe spent 3 months organising table top sales and taking part in car boot sales to raise funds for the Jim Cronin Memorial Fund.
We are very pleased that Chloe's hard work raised £235 for the charity!
Thank you so much to Chloe,
From all the staff and primates at Monkey World!
Danielle Eskdale
Event: Sky Dive at Peterlee Parachute Centre
Date: 29 August 2011
Danielle says: "Approaching my 21st birthday i wanted to do something big and something not many people do in their lives. We decided on a skydive and thought it the perfect fundraising opportunity, with the first fund in mind being the Jim Cronin Memorial Fund.
Although I live at the opposite end of the country to the park, I have visited once and watch the programmes always. It's such an amazing place with amazing people doing such amazing jobs. I'm asking friends and family to please contribute to my sponsors in place of any gifts for my 21st. I hope to raise as much as possible, so please share my link with people you know. Thanks in advance!"

Ricky MacGough
Event: 'Sleepless in the Saddle' 24 hour Mountain Bike Race & the Welsh Cyclo Cross League Season
Date: 7-8 August 2010 & Ongoing!
On Aug 7th/8th, Ricky completed the 'Sleepless in the Saddle' 24 hour Mountain Bike Race at Catton Park in Derbyshire, riding solo.
Ricky suffered a TIA (mini stroke) two and a half years ago and has worked extremely hard to get back into cycling and is progressing well with his training.
"After the 24 hour event I aim to do other endurance events like the 100km CRC Mountain bike events as well as some of the Welsh Cyclocross races during the winter." says Ricky, "I will be keeping this (justgiving) page open all year as I intend to wear specially printed cycling tops promoting the Jim Cronin Memorial Fund."

Andrew and Daniel dressed up as bananas to take part in an eight-and-a-half mile Fun Run in Sutton Colefield, Birmingham, to raise money for the Jim Cronin Memorial Fund!
"It was incredibly hot and incredibly difficult, but we made it in just over an hour and a half which we were pretty pleased with," said Andrew, "and I hope that raising money will continue."

Luretta Shepherd (nee Spearing)
Event: London Marathon 2010
Date: Sunday 2010
Luretta says: "I ran my first marathon in New York in 2008, and managed to acheive a qualifying time for this years London Marathon. The day after the marathon in New York I found out that we'd lost my Nan just two days before the marathon. I promised then to run the 2010 London marathon in her memory. But also want to put the place to good use, and after my last trip to Monkey World I decided it would be most fitting to run for the Jim Cronin Memorial Fund."
Full of admiration for the work done at Monkey World, Luretta and her fiance Brett decided to get married at the park in June 2010! Our congratulations go to Mr & Mrs Shepherd and many thanks for all their support!
